The Washington Workforce Conference 2016 brings together Federal, State and local workforce development partners on November 9 and 10th, 2016 to continue to build on effective practices and develop new service strategies and programming for services to business, youth, and job seekers. The conference focuses on key areas of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act that address meeting the needs of business and job seekers while at the same time building an effective workforce development system that addresses those needs. The conference emphasizes the importance of partnerships and collaboration in meeting customer needs and matching the right job seeker with the right business.
By participating in large and small group breakout sessions, you will have the opportunity to learn about and share best practices and identify and understand current administrative, programmatic and operational issues.
Breakout sessions topics include working with businesses, engaging all job seekers including those with barriers, supporting youth in our programs, and implementing effective system processes.
There will be opportunities to interact and network with your Federal, State and local colleagues and leaders at the opening lunch and an evening banquet on the first day of the conference. At the end of the second day, there will be time scheduled for small group discussions on topics of interest to the conference attendees. Have a WIOA issue you would like to discuss with your colleagues or a subject matter expert? Looking for a specific model for effectively working with partners in a change environment? Have questions on specific regulation items? Have an idea you want to receive feedback on that could lead to improved services for your clients or for stronger partnerships? If you do, be sure and join us for the Box Lunch Special Discussion session on Thursday, November 10th at 12:30.
